Theatre and Success

Mark Twain once said, "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do...Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."? Actress Bette Davis is known to have said, "Attempt the impossible in order to improve your work."? At the McIntosh High School Theatre Department we strive to make our learning experience one that not only teaches us how we came to be what we are, but one that also leads us to where we're going.

Theatre and Life

Playwright Jose Rivera said that "Theatre is the study of life for the living."? By studying theatre, we learn about the nature of humanity, broadening our horizons and the scope of our ability to understand the world around us.

Theatre and Talent

"I believe talent is like electricity. We do not understand electricity. We use it. Electricity makes no judgment. You can plug into it, and light up a lamp, keep a heart pump going, light a cathedral, or you can electrocute a person with it...I think talent is like that. I believe every person is born with talent."? Like Maya Angelou, we believe that every person is born with talent.? At the McIntosh High School Theatre Department we strive to discover the greatest talents of each individual in order to cultivate and use that talent to the advantage of the productions.? Each artist brings a unique perspective to our plays, making the collaborative art of theatre a success.
